The Shops

Rose Cottage Tea Room:

The tea room seats 30 on two floors. Two wall shelves on the first floor hold hand-painted Chrysnbon "china" and another boxes of assorted teas

The floral chandelier is by Jean Bodine. The furniture is mostly Chrysnbon kits, with chair backs painted to match the wallpaper border, and the padded chair seats made from rose seed-packet material. A special table was made by Sydney Wagner. The wicker chair is by Marjorie Meyer.

Most of the place settings on both floors are hand-painted; teapots and some dishware are by Barbara Todd, A Woman's Touch, and Duden's Art Farm. The curtains and table cloths are a collection of lace and crocheted doilies and by-the-yard lace trims.

Fuchsia Bush Bakery:

The Fuchsia Bush Bakery was named after the tea room in Miss Read's "Thrush Green" books. It has two entrances, one leading upstairs to the two floors of the Rose Cottage Tea Room. I made 90% of the baked goods.

The cakes and pastries are made from Fimo clay, and the individually wrapped loaves of bread from Crayola Model Magic.

Interiors:

The third floor interior designer's studio has a Victorian feel. A wall cupboard holds dozens on fabric swatches, and there are wallpaper samples and design books to peruse. The screen is a decoupaged Natasha kit.

The arrangement of dogwood and roses was made in a Sandra Wall class.

Hollyhocks:

Hollyhocks is a garden store with plants, seeds and garden accessories, some from Robin Betterly kits. A special piece is the hand-painted hutch with fruit dishes, made by Lucy Pannute. The large bird house is by Chickie Pannute.

The Toy Box:

A toy chest and a furnished doll house in 1/144" scale are featured in the window of The Toy Box. Many of the dolls and animals are handmade, and the pedal cars are Hallmark ornaments.

The shelves hold Farrow kits of boxed trucks and dolls. Several toys are painted by Lucy Pannute.

The Residence

Bedroom:

The bedroom is a rose, green and white retreat. I made and hand-painted the armoire and dressing table from kits by Rosemarie Torre.

The chaise is by Carol's Mini Fabrications. I made the hat boxes from card stock and scaled-down Laura Ashley wallpaper borders. The night dress on the armoire is by Miniature Mademoiselle, and the one on the bed was made in Joann Roberts class. Roses are by Bernice Gordon. Lucy Pannute painted the lingerie chest.

Dining Room:

A Christmas tree stands in the mirrored corner of the dining room. I made the small table of cherry and holly wood in a Randy Himes class. The cellarette and sideboard were souvenirs from Ashland "Back-to-College weekends.

The rocking bear is by Amanda Skinner. The painted box on the sideboard and the painting are by Paul Saltarelli. Anne Caesar made the poached pears, champagne and the wine and cheese tray. Flowers are by Beatrice Gordon. My husband gave me the working Bulova clock, and I made the counted cross-stitch rug.

The Living Room:

The first floor living room features built-in lighted shelves, adapted from "Brooke's Golden Christmas" plans.

The fireplace is by Braxton Payne and the couch by Ruth Windheim. Marjorie Meyer made the arrangement of freesias. The tiny painted box is by Paul Saltarelli.

Tables display a paperweight collection.
